Camp Ramaquois 2021 Readmit Policy

Guidelines from New York State and Rockland County Departments of Health have been changing rapidly. This readmit policy may change between now and the end of camp.

My unvaccinated child is absent from camp because of a non-COVID-19 related reason

If your child is absent for ANY reason not related to COVID-19 exposure or potential symptoms, he or she can return to camp the next day.

My unvaccinated child is absent from camp due to symptoms that might be related to COVID-19

If your child is absent due to symptoms that might be related to COVID-19 (e.g. headache, fever, cough, loss of taste, upset stomach, etc..), your child can return to camp 24 hours after the symptoms subside with either a negative COVID-19 test (taken after symptoms have subsided), or a note from a pediatrician explaining the symptoms are unrelated to COVID and there is no need for a COVID-19 test. An example of this would be a fever that was caused by an ear infection.

My unvaccinated child is absent from camp because he or she was exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19

Current guidelines require a 10 day quarantine if a child is in close contact with an individual who has tested positive.

My child is absent from camp because he or she has tested positive for COVID-19

Please notify us immediately if your child tests positive for COVID-19 as we must begin a contact trace. The contact trace will ultimately be determined by Department of Health officials, but it will include unvaccinated individuals who were in close contact with the person who tested positive.

Note for vaccinated individuals (campers and staff) who are absent

Vaccinated individuals may require a negative COVID-19 test to return to camp, depending on the presentation of symptoms. All individuals with a fever or COVID-19 related symptoms must wait 24 hours after the fever and symptoms subside (without fever reducing medication) before returning to camp.
