Girls Entering 10th Grade

CAP Girls

Girls who are entering 10th grade are excited to be part of Girls’ Side, known as the “Spirit” of Ramaquois. Girls are encouraged to celebrate their individuality and support each other. The Girls’ Side culture allows each camper to become the best version of herself. CAP Girls spend half the day as campers and the other half interning with Ramaquois staff members.

Girls’ Side

The Spirit of Camp Ramaquois

The friends I’ve made at Ramaquois have been (and will continue to be) some of the best friends I will ever have. The lessons I’ve learned will last me a lifetime. I am so grateful for all the amazing memories I made.

CAP Program

Our Counselor Apprentice Program is a leadership training initiative that allows our oldest campers to enjoy everything they love about being a camper, while also helping them become our next generation of leaders. As counselor interns in the morning, the CAPs rotate to different groups in camp and receive hands-on training about how to become a great counselor. In the afternoon, the CAPs are campers and travel as a group through a scheduled program of athletic, cultural arts and water activities. CAPs also participate in our optional trip program.

We challenge Girls’ Side campers in athletic, creative, and social ways while feeling supported; these opportunities allow them to take healthy risks, develop self-esteem, increase their competencies, and build confidence in themselves. Girls’ Side is a kind and respectful community that offers its campers real experiences and authentic connections.

A Day in the Life of a CAP Girl

Sample Schedule

The CAP Girls spend three periods per day interning as a staff member. The balance of the day is spent as a camper, where the girls participate in a variety of activities together. CAP Girls have an elective period each day, allowing them to pursue a passion at camp.

The daily program is supplemented by exciting special events and optional trips, making each day at Ramaquois truly unique!

Optional Adventure Trip Program

A New Adventure Awaits!

Our older campers can choose from a menu of several different day and overnight trips. Popular destinations include amusement parks, Broadway shows, college visits, white water rafting and much more! Our pre-teens and teens bond during trips led by our experienced administrators and wonderful counselor role-models. Safety is always our top priority - so we always have a very low camper to staff ratio on each trip.

A Place for Older Girls

Upper Camp Girls’ Side is a special place at Ramaquois. Here, camp friendships and shared experiences are celebrated. Participation in the Upper Camp SNAPS League is a highlight for our older campers. SNAPS instills in our campers the importance of Spirit, Novelty, Attitude, Participation and Sportsmanship. These five qualities also describe the culture of Girls’ Side. New friends are warmly welcomed and quickly become a part of Upper Camp family.

We're proud to be considered
one of the best day camps in New York!
