Boys Entering 8th Grade

Super Grenadiers

Boys’ Side, known as The Pride, is the home for our boys entering 8th grade. Campers are encouraged to take pride in their effort, show sportsmanship, be supportive, and take healthy risks. Super Grenadiers are considered part of “Upper Camp” and enjoy many engaging camp programs, including our unique Bunt & Steal League. As campers get older, the Ramaquois program adjusts to accommodate their different interests and skill levels. Super Grenadier boys are never bored at Ramaquois!

Boys’ Side provides endless opportunities for campers to try new things and challenge themselves in athletics, crafts, adventure activities, cultural experiences, and even in the Dining Hall. Ultimately, the boys learn to inspire others, make friends, and develop empathy. The Boys’ Side experience provides authentic connections and teaches campers that kindness and courage are extremely valuable qualities that help them become better people.

The Best Role Models

For Ramaquois Staff, It’s More Than Just a Summer Job

Our Boys’ Side staff members lead by example by demonstrating warmth, caring and kindness for each camper. Counselors teach campers, through athletics, creative and cultural activities, and adventure learning, that taking pride in one’s effort is the best way to separate excellence from mediocrity. By focusing on “pride,” staff members teach our boys how to build great relationships and develop lifelong friendships.

About Our Staff

An exciting program for Upper Camp Boys is our Bunt & Steal League, an opportunity for boys to participate in an energetic and intense activity in which all campers, regardless of ability level, are given chances to lead and shine.
A Place for Older Campers

Become the best version of yourself

Boys’ Side campers entering 7th through 10th grades have a unique place at Camp Ramaquois. There’s never an, “I’m too old for this” feeling, and they become great role models for our younger boys. With adult-sized field space, age-appropriate specialty areas, and opportunities to develop leadership skills through experiential learning and unique programming, our older campers never feel they need to leave. Once entering 10th grade, older boys become part of our Counselor Apprentice Program (CAP), where they develop the skills and experiences to make themselves eligible to be a group counselor the following summer.

Ramaquois Traditions

An Authentic Camp Experience, Since 1922

Ramaquois traditions help make our camp a special community. Time-honored traditions include Legends’ Ceremonies, Song & Cheer, Moving Up Ceremonies, RamaGames and many more. Our traditions celebrate milestones, bond campers together, and connect our generations. Like everything else at Ramaquois, our traditions are more meaningful because we do them together.

We're proud to be considered
one of the best day camps in New York!
