Ramaquois is the best alternative to sleep-away camp
Boys entering 9th grade are called Seniors at Camp RamaquoisPronounced Rama-Koy our camp name is derived from the Ramapo Mountains, which surround our campus, and the Iroquois tribe, who once inhabited these grounds.. Each group of Seniors has three Counselors70% are former campers, and 75% return each year.. A division leader oversees all of the Seniors groups.
All of our Staff members receive extensive training through our University of RamaquoisDuring counselor training, each counselor receives an individualized schedule based on his or her strengths, weaknesses, and experience. This groundbreaking concept has been presented at several ACA conferences. program with an emphasis on integrating new campers into the group. Many new campers, of all ages, come to Ramaquois each year because of our unique facility, program and outstanding Staff.
Seniors enjoy all of the benefits of Boys' Side. They participate in Boys' Side Line-UpTraditional camp gathering each morning with announcements and exciting events., Song & CheerSong & Cheer is a Ramaquois tradition where each division writes and performs a song about camp. and other favorites such as Bonzo BallA Ramaquois favorite! You'll have to come to camp to learn the rules!, Game Tent and Ga-GaA favorite game for all ages! You'll have to visit camp to learn the rules!!
Seniors have an opportunity to enjoy all of our water activities, including Swim InstructionOur swim groups are divided based on camper swim ability. Swim groups have two or three campers per instructor., Water WorksWater Works is the name of our Spray Park., Bumper Boats and watercrafts on the Rama-LakeThe Rama-Lake is a spring-fed, natural five acre lake located in the center of our campus..
Our Boys' Side program provides campers with a mix of athletic and non-athletic activities. All of our Athletics are instruction based and focused on skill development. Our field specialists and athletic directors lead each activity and emphasize sportsmanship and effort. Seniors participate in our famous Bunt and Steal League!
The non-athletic activities are a mix of Crafts, Cultural and Adventure activities, including the Zip LineThe zip line gives campers the opportunity to fly across the Ramaquois campus in a safety harness. and much more.
Seniors have many new activities such as Woodworking, EndZone Ropes Course, DJ Karaoke and Pickle Ball.
Seniors can customize their program by selecting one activity per day. This "Option ProgramCampers entering 3rd grade and older can customize their schedule by choosing one activity per day." provides an opportunity for campers to get more in-depth exposure to any activity that they choose. Campers are exposed to a variety of activities and are sure to try something new at camp!
Seniors can participate in our Adventure Trip Program. 9th graders can choose from several exciting day and overnight Trips to destinations such as water parks, broadway shows, historical landmarks and other popular venues. Our trip program is completely menu driven, and those campers who do not go on Trips have a full camp day.
The regular camp program is supplemented by exciting divisional and all-camp Special Events such as Water Carnival, Land Carnival, Rama-GamesRama Games is our traditional color war. The camp is divided into four teams for various activities and competitions. and more!
