Ramaquois FAQ
Who are the Directors?
From 1922 through 1969 Camp Ramaquois was an outstanding resident camp. For more than 30 years, Owners/Directors, Arthur and Natalie Kessler, along with many professional administrators, have offered our campers the ultimate day camp experience.

Arthur Kessler, Owner/Director, has been the vice-president of the American Camping Association and held a position on the Executive Board. He is one of the founders of the Rockland Day Camp Association. Frequently, Mr. Kessler is called upon to lecture at professional conferences.

Natalie Kessler, a New York State Certified Teacher, devoted 24 years to teaching children of all ages. Mrs. Kessler directs and supervises the Ramaquois Adventure Trip Program. She is a member of the Rockland County Day Camp Association, the New Jersey Day Camp Association and the American Camping Association.

Ramaquois FAQ
How will my child get to camp?
Campers, who reside in Rockland, Bergen, Manhattan, Riverdale and Westchester, are provided with round-trip door-to-door transportation to camp. All of our buses are late-model, air conditioned school buses and mini vans equipped with 2-way radios, seat belts and cell phones.

In addition, all vehicles have one or two bus counselors who care for and interact with the children.

Our most important concern is the safety and well being of your child.

What are the camper-counselor ratios?
Ramaquois age groups are kept small to offer our campers individualized attention. The Junior Camp is given the highest priority in supervision, as there is one counselor for every 4 or 5 campers. There are three counselors per group for campers up to the age of eleven, and at least two counselors per group for campers ages twelve to fifteen.
